I assume you are talking Newman Creek? I have no problem using minnows or jig tipped minnows, if that is what it takes! I fish jigs 99% of the time. We need to meet up someday soon.

I believe you are right on the money. In fact, I'm heading down to Cedar Creek Lake on Monday to try it a couple of days to see if I can change my luck! But, looks like it's going to rain again the first of next week, probably slowing the spawn down once again. I'm just wondering what happens if the females just discharge their eggs in open water or if they start to internally digest the eggs and we end up with no spawn? Not sure anything stops them from spawing but, that question has had me wondering.
Not for sure okie, I've been told sooner or later they just drop their eggs but ill research that and get back to you
Heading out tomorrow to see if I can locate some around Newberry and Little Glasses areas.
Fished reeves ravine and lost lake yesterday we only caught eight.the males had war paint and the females still had eggs both had split tales.
Went out yesterday out of Newberry. Had my son in law with me and he doesn't have patience to search for crappie so I found him some stripers in Big Glasses.
i did manage to search the shallows for Crappie but could not find anything. Wind was a little problem in speed control.
Water temp was from 62 to 64 in coves so something has to happen soon.
Ddubya, I too was out there and nada. Temps were as you said. Too windy in my opinion. What kind of boat were you in? We might have ran in to you. Saw a boat throwing a net in Newberry and it was the only boat we ran into. Ran to Glasses and lithe glasses as well and the main body was pretty wavy, lol. I had my son in law with me as well.
