Anybody know if they're catching them off the docks? [emoji2]
You know you could back your boat into a private dock and put some minnows down and see, if its too windy just take a rope and tie off to the dock. But I do think that's illegal for tournament fishing. We've had some good reports on "private dock fishing" on here before, hope this helps. EB
Jeff talked to some folks this morning. My neighbor is down at Pioneer marina every decent day. He said this morning he has seen 2 decent crappie caught down there in the last 2 weeks. They were catching some nice fish at MacFadden last week.Talked to the Boat House today and he said some good fish were caught on minnows. On a second note, McFadden Marina was recently sold. By law, when they have a marina on a Corp lake, they lease 5 acres of water so that's what they have say so over. He said if you are in a boat and not physically tied up to the marina no one would probably say anything to you. If you are tied to a slip they will make you leave. There are a lot of people fishing there on weekends and are paying 800.00 a year for a boat slip so I would probably avoid the slips where they are fishing. The new owner is really putting some tight reins on the fishing there. If you don't pay for a slip he won't let you fish. I guess he has stopped the my buddy has a dock deal.
Okay thank you Tim.
Talked to Darrel this morning. Want to see everyone catch fish and have a good time next weekend. We may end up fishing 200 acres but it will be fun.
Is the March 4th tournament still on?
Please send me some info?
Thanks,
Clint
Go to the top of the Oklahoma forum and all the info you need is listed under the Kaw Lake Tournament. If you look under the Oklahoma Crappie tournament forum it will list the rules there
Thanks for the info.
The pioneer marina used to have some submerged brush in there too. It was between the slips in open water. I was fishing it two years ago and some guy came running down there and told me to get he hell out. He was pretty angry about something. According to my locator, that brush is now gone, be it by flood waters washing it out, or being taken out. Looks like they are doing a little cleanup around the marina.
Went out late this afternoon and caught 9 really good fish. Biggest were 8 ft deep. Water temp really varies in different parts of the lake from 45 deg to 54 deg. Used drop shots today.
