Just had my appendix taken out so, looks like I'll be confined to dock fishing for a week or two. Just my luck, I think it's about to really turn on too.

Sorry to hear about the appendix, glad your doing better!
Dang Slabs you have that done after we talked the other mornin...hope your recovery is fast and pain free...Ranger
Yup yesterday. I started hurting so I got my feeding done then went to the er and they took it out.
Slabs,
Just remember your pillow. My first visit to the bathroom after the speech by the nurse about taking the pillow everywhere I went and hold it tight to my side getting up or down, I decided I was tough enough to not need a pillow. Sitting down was easy, getting up I thought everything was coming out. I was standing letting the pain subside, and standing in the door way was the nurse. She says "Forgot your pillow." "Yea." "Bet you don't do it again." And she headed on down the hall. She was right!;)
slabs glade your ok. be glade they didn't rupture mine did and i was down for 4 or 5 weeks. that was back in 95 and i still have problems where the did the surgery because of the infection.
I'm glad I caught it early, mine wasn't ruptured yet. As soon as I started hurting I did some google research and thought I better get it checked out. Thanks Guys
be sure and don't lift anything heavy or thing will come undone.
Get well soon slabs, looks like you were smarter than me an kd. I laid in bed for 3 or 4 days before I gave up and went to the hospital. Mine ruptured when they took it out. It took me over a month to get back to normal. Kd's right, getting out of bed was terrible, I tried every way imaginable and it was really painful no matter what I did. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Anyone been fishing Tenkiller? I've got tomorrow off, so my buddy and I were thinking of coming to T'killer to fish the Caney Marina (we don't have a boat). Anyone been doing any good? Love to hear a report before we make the drive from Owasso. Thanks!
Show up early and fish hard, you will catch some fish.
Penny have heard of a few being caught at Caney. Tomorrow might be the day. But to be honest I havent caught much above the hwy 82 bridge but that doeant mean alot.....Ranger
Gonna go tomorrow also but not early..gonna let the sun cut alil frost first....Ranger
Thanks Ranger. Good luck to you tomorrow
Good Luck and let us know how you do! Planning on spending the weekend fishing. It is odd though, you know there are no crappie in Tenkiller right?::biggrin
IDK Ive SCUBA dove that lake several times and haven't seen any! But that doesnt mean much!
Ranger, what is the visibilty like where your fishing right now?
Water is alil off color in the upper end, with that I mean you can see your jig like 3' to 4'. Down in Petit area and below it gets clearer though EB
Fished hard today unloading at Petit North ramp at 0725..Ice covering all edges of the lake and ramp about 8" to 10" out from the bank. When I left home it was 21 degrees and when I got over at Tenkiller in the hills it was a balmy 11 degrees. Water freezing in the guides of my rods. When that happens head to the trees. Well I did and got busted, no crappie in the trees so far this winter or I cant find them. Ended up with 13 very nice crappie 8 blacks and 5 whites. Fish today had moved off my woodpiles in 14' to 24' and were in 30' or deeper wood. Had 13 crappie, 2 sandbass, 2 bass, 1 drum, and 6 throwbacks. Baits of choice today and the only 1 if fished was the Bobby Garland cajun cricket on 1/8oz jig head. Water temps were 44.3 at unloading and got up to 47.1 close to Cherokee Landing. All crappie caught close to the channel drop off or on it. Going over again tomorrow and see if the wind direction will make a difference. Fishing on a blue bird day after a front usually doesnt treat me well anyway......Ranger
BUSTED....worse day of fishin that I can remember..well it certainly beats working but the catching part was bad. Had 3 keepers all day with several throwbacks. You could see the fish on the wood but they wouldn't hit anything. Even tried crappie candy first just 1 then heck I tried 2. Not sure if minnows would of worked today. With the weatherman saying lite winds from the NW thought it was going to be a killer day. But being lied to again with winds gusting to atleast 25mph and with a steady wind of atleast 15 from the NW it was almost impossible to fish my stuff where I caught them yesterday much less finess them and the hits I got was just a lite tap and with a bow in your line you had better be watching it closely. The good thing is I just wrote the day off and started putting wood in the lake thinking it will pay off in the long run....Ranger
GPS cords? Lol
Well I am glad it wasn't just me! Minnows didn't help! Same as you Ranger. Had a funeral early so didn't get on the lake until late but they sure didn't want to cooperate for us.
Kirk I left at around 4pm after I got back down to Petit the wind was straight out of the west so I couldnt fish anything down there either..had a gr8 time on the water though...hands didnt freeze like yesterday...lol.....Ranger
Im glade i didnt go. We started to unload at elk creek . The wind is supposed to blow harder sun and mon so i guess the rest of this weekend is out. Next weekend is looking warm right now so might get to try friday or sat.
Man I have to quit listening to the weatherman. Went Friday afternoon no luck and we were just in time for the wind to change out of the north. Installed a hardwood floor today, when I should have been fishin!
Well after my surgery cabin fever got the best of me and I thought a little dock fishing wouldn't hurt nothing. Had a good day and enjoyed the weather. Baby Shads and Tiny Flukes shad color in 10-15 " o water.

Nice stringer Slabs! Glad you are having a speedy recovery.
Odie
Way to go Slabs!
Sweet Slabs..those did come from Ft Gibson right..my story and stickin to it..lol..glad to see ya up and around..bo on the water tomorrow but thinkin about Eufaula
If anyone catches 13 big black crappie on one one cast just keep my stringer it has a habit of slipping out of your hand.
Slabs that is a bummer! How far down lake was the mudline?
fish out of a boat and u will not lose ur livewell...unless u sink the silly thing...lol...bad luck slabs...but I do know where u lost it so I might just have to go lookin for it.....Ranger
Im not sure how far down it is but I know it's clearing up above the bridges now, and it's clear water down around Cookson. Ranger, you know you might have a point.
They still hittin the bigger bait or have you gone back to the tiny ones..got wet yesterday on Eufaula thought I would fish down there since it was stable and Tenkiller was still on the rise and 2' above..who would of thunk it would hail on ya the 1st day of Febuary...it did..lol..Ranger
Baby shad.
Thanks for the update Slabs!
Installed a new fish finder this weekend, spent more time playing with and and looking at it than fishing! However about got blown off the lake with the w to nw wind. Ton's of white bass in 30 fow at 15-20. Got another 1.29" of rain Friday night, water was rising, cookson and above water was cloudy! It was quite chilly with the 20 mph wind. Hopefully this weekend will be more conducive to fishing!!!! Ranger I am envious that you can get on the water during the week sometimes!!!!
Kirk I hardly ever fish a Saturday and never a Sunday.. Being able to fish during the week enables me to fish waters that are not seeing the pressure that is seen on weekends. Working a split shift for the last 28yrs has been bad by not being able to attend functions with the kids as they were growing up like baseball, basketball,FFA, and other school functions so Fridays and Saturdays are theirs that I am off..And of course Sundays belongs to my Faith and Church plus the family again...So when I am off during the week and still working as of now I can't pick my days as I will shortly and have to fish if its windy, raining, rising water, and ect...but a day on the water is much better than a day at work for now.....Glad you have your new locator up and running Kirk..now stay off my wood...lol......Ranger
Ranger, kudos to you on the church and family!!!! You don't have to worry about your wood, and actually you will be getting lots of new wood coordinates from me, for your help in the past!!!! Note, I did see some of your wood up in a bay!!! At least it was approx where we were talking about.
NP Kirk was kidding about the wood anyways..there is plenty to go around with us still puttin it in the water..can't wait to see you on the water so I can get a look at that new cheatin device you have installed,,,lol.....Ranger
Ranger I hate for you to see my new cheater, because I don't want to be responsible for you having to spend that kind of money!! ha ha I knew you was kiddin.
