25 fow? dang. over brush pile or what?
Some on structure in the channel, but the channel was the main thing. I did a lot a driving, and didn't see much on the flats. Look like every species of fish in the lake was in the channel. Graph was just full of 'em. So we anchored down and started probing the water column. Caught some as deep as 16 ft, but most were 8-12 fow. Keep in mind this was 10 days ago, and we've had a really warm weekend since then. My guess is that if this 7-day forcast holds true (80s all week) they'll be much shallower this weekend. I'm guessing males will be on the beds and females will be staging. That's why I think they were in the channel -- transitioning toward shallow water. But I've been wrong before.
yea the channel always has something in it. i caught a few yesterday in 8 fow. and they were right on bottom or maybe a foot up at the most. caught about 10 with 5 of them being keepers. i got all of those fish in a 30 minute span and thought they were going to turn on but then some body flipped the switch and they quit. o well. soon enough i guess
think i might go and give it a try saturday just depends on the wind if its 1-20 ill give it a try anything more than that ill just keep my self at home and play with my baby boy :P or i might even see if my buddy is going he has the mini Kota talon shallow water anchor and he said that he ripped them (bass) a new one last weekend he was telling me that they were up in the hog creek area chasing shad he told me that he caught a few crappie and a saugeye and a catfish and a few small bass
went again today for a short outing during my lunch break. caught just as many this time in the same area but they had shallowed up to 4 fow. by next weekend it should be in full swing
Went out this morning from about 7am-noon. Cleaned 5 crappie. They were 5-9 feet early, and then shallowed up as the sun started warming the water good. I found water as warm as 71* in the muddy shallows on the North shore. Got to meet rednecksooner in person. Should have brought the boat, but was not excited about the wind. Got one predator out of the water: a 4 lb 9 oz 24" saugeye!
Went out to Tbird saturday morning early to try and beat the wind. Launced about 7:45 and the water wasn't rough but as the day went on it got rougher and it was the gusts that made it rough. Oh by the fishermans point boat ramp is now open to lauch your boat. I hit the tower and got about 18 keepers and there were hitting about 5-6 feet of water. Water temp was 63-64 degrees. I tried some spots on the south side but no luck and the water temp was 59-60. I fished till about 11 am and had to stop as my trolling motor prop was out of the water as much as it was in the water, pretty bouncy. Another week of this warm weather should really bring them in.
Glad to here it is open now. was tired of the long hill at denver corner.
I just notice a fishing platform over in clearbay east of the boat ramp. Looks pretty nice. I was goning to fish around it but there were several people fishing off of it so I gave them there space. I wonder if these fishing platforms are going to be lit up at night?
I didn't know there was a fishing platform in clearbay. Is it a new one?
