It's been so long since I've fished those Indiana river creeks, I've honestly forgot all about them. I used to fish them back in late 70's and early 80's. I used to like Hogans. I used to catch a lot of bass in the mouth of that creek. Isn't there a launch ramp in the mouth of Hogan's, maybe behind a Shell Station or something like that. It had a little box you had to put a few bucks in as a fee. We used to spend alot of time in Tanners and caught some nice crappie but we caught them more by accident to be honest.
"Indian can be a good lake, but I have had some bad days up there, where I didn't catch but just a few fish. If your not used to fishing a shallow lake I would recommend you staying home. Mid April is good for Blacks they are usually spawning by then, the whites don't move in till May."
The only time I've been on Indian Lake is to go ice fishing. I usually get bored and go once or twice a year. I kind of figured that lake was real shallow. I would think that LL trolling could be good if you found the right area. I never figured on fishing 2'-4' debth. Sounds like jig/bobber fishing to me. With so many people living on that lake, is it wall to wall people? I may have to skip a weekend of turkey hunting and give it a try or maybe just take a day off work and go during the week. Either way, it would be different. I talked to a guy while ice fishing a few weeks ago, he told me fish IL quite a bit and his best is 17.5". That sounded good to me. He did mention the pad beds also.
