Sat on 'em at least 3 times. Thought you broke my neck one time. I think that's when I decided to buy a Lund, right there.
As swelled up as they were, we coulda weighed them and had a better weight!

I think he was really trying to break your neck
That was only the second tournament I EVER fished. I almost gave it up right then and there. The only day I can remember when fishing wasn't even a little bit enjoyable. I think I would have taken fished-out's experience over ours that day. Miserable! Tell ya how bad our luck was. we couldn't find any fish at all till around 1:00, then no keepers. We caught a nice fatty that probably would have been 11", except his back was broken in two places, which made him shaped kinda like a zig zag. He was short of the 9" minimum laid flat as he was, but if we had flattened him out he'd have been close to 11". That broke back fish just went right along with the day. We took out and drove straight home. Didn't even stay for the weigh in.
That would be my luck in a tournament.
don't feel alone
my first tourney was for bass. 1st fish I had was close to 4#. I put it in my cooler turned into a livewell. I heard that fish flopping in there every once in a while. On one flop, I looked back just in time to see it knock the lid open and go back in the lake. That fish would have moved me from 3rd to 1st place. I think I've only fish 1 or 2 tourney's since and that been 25 years ago. Talk about tramatic.
I got even with him another day. We were prefishing and I noticed he'd broken the hook off just past the bend (tube was still on, rig still looked good on the end of a 12' rod). Didn't tell him and proceeded to catch one fish after another----he kept settin' the hook, but no fish, for about 10 minutes until he figured it out. :) Made up for all those times he outfished me. :)
Starvin', I think you actually did that twice that year....that'll teach ya to rip them hooks out....
Thanks fish I will use that one...
You'll get your hook broke if you keep catching big fish all the time!
Nah, it was rusty from lack of use....kinda like Yates below the belt :)
