    Default Alum creek

I was up visiting family last month and finally stopped and drove around a little. I was wondering if anyone fished there and could tell me if it's worth fishing there?

I do or have a recently as last year. I only go on weekdays as the pleasure boaters on F-Sun are ridiculous crazy. I have caught some nice Crappie up the Big Run No wake zone and north of the 36 bridge.

I have never fished it but have fished Hoover many times which is to the east of Alum.

Alum Creek is well known for its saugeye, musky and crappie fisheries. As Buckeye stated, go during the week as the weekend all the Columbus powerboaters are on the lake. I personally like Hoover as it's a 10hp lake and MUCH less crowded. It's a couple miles east of Alum. When I am in Columbus for work, I haul my kayak down in the back of my truck and fish the back bay areas. The state recently stocked blues in Hoover a few years ago and they are coming on strong and big this past year.
