I was just notified today that we are working Saturday the 24th....it is a mandatory full production day.
So, you guys can have a nice breakfast as I work, and we can do another in March!
If you all still meet on the 24th let me know and I'll get with Downtime to distribute a couple door prizes.
Fished Thursday, Friday, and Sunday evening....rewarded with 21 Gators, 15 keepers from 18 to 24 inches. The 6 dinks were all at 12 inches.
The 4" Perch Easy Shiner Keitech with a Chartreuse "Crappiedreamer" jig head caught the 23 and 24 incher....all the rest were on Crappiedreamer pink heads and White French Pearl 3" easy shiners with a Chartreuse nibble.
They are found in feeding flats surrounded by deep water on at least 2 sides....so far the only technique that has worked for me is to cast out, let it lay on the bottom, and then slowly lift it off the bottom, and left it fall. All of them have hit it on the fall! And they are fighting all the way In!
My guess is the shad are shocked from ice off and warm water flooding in...they are under stress and the Walleye are picking off easy ones trying to warm in the shallows. Every fish was just packed with bellies full of shad. The 23" had a couple fresh 6" Perch in it's belly, with half digested shad.
Pretty good for a dead Walleye lake! Lol
I won't be able to make this one Lynn and I will be in Louisville Ky at the 2018 Catfish Conference you all have a great time I know I'll be in heaven at this one...Doc
Sounds like breakfast is still on, for those of us that aren't working Saturday ...
Brent, enjoy your new 'toy' ...
I now have the World's fastest fishing vehicle...It should be able to get me to CJ in about 6 minutes!lol
