So I live near a private lake about 5 minutes from my house. It is an old quarry that was turned into a preserve. There are some huge crappie and bass in there. The only thing is that there is essentially no structure on the bottom except an occasional small rock. (about the size of a basketball.) So I asked the preserve owners If I could drop some brush piles, and they said sure as long as I put them deep enough that nobody will hit them with their motor. i've never dropped any brush piles so I am pretty much going blind on this. I'm thinking I'll drop a couple of small christmas trees or big limbs tied to a cinderblock and mark the spot with a waypoint on the bird. There is 15-20 foot visibility in this lake so I am questoning the depth I should drop them at. if any of you guys have any experience with this that would help a lot. Thanks.
