Almost all of the area lakes have decent crappie fishing. Like anywhere else some areas of these lakes are better than others.
The closest lake to Mason would be Caesars Creek. A lot of guys call it the dead "C" but it's really a good lake but it may take a little effort to get to know it. There's a few locals on here who hopefully will contact you and give you a few pointers. This lake also has a good saugeye population that may come as a bonus.
Another good lake near by would be Cowan. At this time it has a 10hp limit but you can use a TM if your motor is too big. Cowan is a favorite of mine and has some very good fish in it. Cowan also has a good saugeye population.
If you don't mind a little drive, maybe 45-50 minutes East Fork is another good lake. This is where I spend most of my time but it's mostly because it's only a 10 minute drive.
Time of year that you visit will dictate which patterns are working best. What time(s) of the year are you planning on visiting?

Provided there's no ice you can usually get into some fish around here all year. You can get them through the ice too but the ice is inconsistent from year to year.
Another spot that's pretty good around here are the Ohio River Creeks in SE Indiana but you will need an Indiana license to fish them. it's no big deal to get them online plus the cost is reasonable and if you want you can get a 1 day license if you just want a change of pace or just a new adventure.
Good luck if you get over this way.

Nice mess of fish...I'm sure you'll do just fine here.
Brookville lake in Indiana is also a pretty good spot but Indiana has some weird boat stamp/sticker rule. I used to go there a few times a year until I moved (east) out of the city. It's a good lake but if you go make sure you get that permit. The good think about the Mason area is you have quite a few options with in an hour drive.
I hope this stinking cold weather doesn't stick around....we don't need any ice.

Cowan lake is somewhat close ......
Good place to long line or pull cranks ..... May have to sort through dinks, but it's a fun lake

Thanks and appreciate all the help.

Don't rule out Rocky Fork, and a couple more miles , Paint Creek Lake. Both in my opinion great crappie lakes.
