Fished yesterday evening in 3 different spots. Caught about a dozen dinks. They were cold!! It looks like they have started to fatten up also.

Like last weekend, I had the whole lake to myself. I'm really surprised at the lack of people fishing. Maybe everyone is smarter that I am...

I forgot to mention - I saw four roadkill deer on the way to the lake. BE CAREFUL driving in the evenings (and early morning)!!

Fished today with Crazy4Crappie...saw Daniel out also!
Jeff ended up with 114 Crappie on his clicker, we managed to pattern what they were feeding on today, but the whole day only resulted in two 13's, three 12's, and one eleven.
I experimented to see if they would bite ANYTHING else...I tried everything, from craws, to Curly Tails, to Fats, and all colors...the only thing they were hitting was The Keitech Easy Shiners in a Natural Color. I didn't catch a single fish on anything else I tried...Now we just have to catch some Big ones and see what they are hitting!

Just so everyone knows...Cajun Willie, retired from the Air Force, and got his dream job back home in Louisiana. He is now doing the same job he retired from, as a civilian contractor, at the Air Base by his home. It came open suddenly and he headed South in a week! I'll miss my buddy and fishing partner...Until Next Spring when we head down for some Southern Slabs!

Fished deep water from the bank today...got out at 8:45 after Dale got on the bus.
As soon as I got there, I started catching Crappie....at 10:30 the bite died and I didn't get another bite....left at noon.
I think they are still on a dark bite, but I won't know that until I can get out in the evening.
Started out with natural colors again...and that was the only thing that they would hit.
Still no size, the biggest was a 10....gonna be ALOT of big fish next year!...water temp was 54 and rising...water was almost glass, and pretty clear.
This is the second day we saw an early top-water boil and afterwards a lot of 2-3 inch shad injured or dying on the surface...this is what the lake is feasting on right now, so that explains the natural colors being productive!

Saw Sheriff's in the parking lots...NO restrooms are open....you better not drink a lot of coffee before you go out!
The State seal coated THE ENTIRE DAM ROADWAY!
Man, how much black seal coat would it take to do a two lane road that is 3/4ths of a mile....someone did a good job...when summer comes next year the walkers will be pissed because they will actually sweat! lol

    Good Fishing!

Fished the Over-look area this morning after 8:30am ..... figured since is was dark and cloudy, the Gators would come out and play.
Ended up with 28 crappie and two 15 inch Gators....no size again...biggest Crappie was 10.5 and that was it...all went back to Mother CJ.
Moved at 10:15 and only caught 1 more until I left again at noon.
Daniel came over and we fished and chatted...I was amazing how fast the bite dies.
Today they wouldn't hit anything but white...go figure, even the Gators hit a 3" white Easy Shiner.
Daniel is helping to thin the Kitty population....perfect eaters!

Going to be interesting how much heat, if any, the new Super Black roadway adds to the surrounding water by the dam.

Daniel and I will be out in his Lund...Flat bottom, open cat boat...Crappie Fishing!
Water temp was 56-58 degrees....slow and vertical should be good...they are full and tight lipped...put it on their nose!

Fished with Daniel today from 9 til 2 pm....Cats were sure biting, but Crappie were tight lipped....we found fish everywhere, from Goose Island to the west....saw Carp and Cats leaping like Asian whites....Big baitballs in the North end...water temp was 58 in the North and 56 in the South. Lake was calm early and rolling with whitecaps by 2.
Catch Crappies on white and Bluegill flash...Kitties on Shad!
Doc came out as I was leaving, Daniel and him were putting a hurt on the Cat population.
The lake is healthy and packed with bait...Big fish are everywhere and predators are all-over the lake, but I still think they are feeding at night and suspending during the day....I suspect the water temps haven't hit the point where they are feeding 24/7...it won't be long.
The lake is healthy and packed....so far, so good!

Looks like I'm done now for awhile.
    Good fishing
