CJ WATER TEMPS AND FISHING THREAD FOR FALL 2015 & 2016

Well I'm not getting any of my work done but I'm enjoying life right now!:)
Dale wanted to go out again, so we got out at 5:30 and fished till 9pm....one of our best days ever.
I picked a new flat area, and it really produced....the lake was white capping and the wind was terrible, but the wind also blew fish into a corner.
Dale only had 6 casts all night without a fish...I had only 4 casts in almost 4 hrs without a bite....needless to say, we caught many, many, many, many, limits.
Dale had 6 crappie 13 inches or better and 23 crappie that were 12 or better....I had the big fish at ALMOST 15...ALMOST. WE had 2 limits of fish 12 inches and better...AND only 5 DINKS all night.
I also ended up with 7 Gators all between 17 and 22 inches....and 6 pink easy shiners like the one pictured with no tail. They either smashed them or bit the tails off.
Pink and Orange were the sunlight colors and white and chartruese were the dark water colors. BIG CRAPPIE LOVED THE CRAWS AGAIN.

No one was bank fishing anywhere we could see...1 boat was out but soon left...Guess people still think CJ is the dead sea!:):):)

YOU COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER DAY...I think my son thinks that I can find spots like this every day...I guess I'm spoiling him....but at least he's fishing!
All fish were again released unharmed, back to Mother CJ.

That's one benefit of having an older Father!:)
I was about his age when CJ was built....I can remember my Grandfather taking me to the Golf Course and fishing in some of his friend's farm ponds with my Grandmother.
When CJ was being built he drilled into my head what all was going to be underwater, all the roads, fence posts, streams, ponds, etc....and we watched as they added features and took others away. My Grandmother was the True Fish Whisperer and taught me how to fish!
Add that I was a Part of the cover drops for 10+ years and watched how those changed the lake. Then to have fished CJ for alot of my life, gives me a Great understanding of Mother CJ. Add, that I live 10 minutes away and anyone can be a fish whisperer with all that info!
Dale has been asking Alot of questions about how I think where fish will be and about the lake....so now the knowledge is flowing and the next generation can begin to take care of her!

It's not hard to figure CJ out, anyone can do it....you just have to listen!:) If you cannot adapt like the fish do, then CJ will continue to be the DEAD SEA!

What kind of craw is that? I love the way it looks.

Lesson Learned!
Had an hour and a half last night between car shows....headed to the flats where Dale and I killed them.
Spent a half hour and only caught 5 fish....MOVED to a deep water spot and caught fish on almost every cast again. Only use 3 color craw...left, still catching fish in a totally different area than before...Adapt!

Also caught this 24 inch kitty that took a while to get in...dang things still piss me off when I hook them...I cuss them the whole time.
I guess because they hit like a Big Walleye, but as soon as they fight you know what it is.
Caught it on a 4.8 inch Chartruese FAT swimmer.

Fished Saturday afternoon to after dark, caught several just legal crappie, then got into a huge school of 10 to 12 inch fish. Found them in deeper water fishing the 17 to 24 foot ledges. They hit mainly swim baits in natural, blue shad and chartreuse. Find the schools of bait fish find the keeper fish under them.

What's Up Easy?:) Seen you lurking....Dale has been asking about you, when we get back from Florida later in July, he wants to get together.

For you that don't know, Easy is ONE with Mother CJ and one of her best....He was around from the beginning and helped cover her (even at Zero Dark Thirty)....Listen to him!

We can definitely do that.. Haven't been on lake much this year , but i'm changing that. So looking forward to it my friend
