went to the lake today mainly in chase of the hybrid stripers. did manage to catch a couple of nice crappie right off the bat about 17 foot deep. then my dad and buddy decided to set up their poles as they left the spot where i caught them and boom no more crappie. caught a couple nice hybrids though, only problem was the shad was as big as most crappie in the lake. Also didnt help that the minnows we bought were all pinheads. Did hit one hybrid on crappie pole which didnt stand a chance as soon as i picked up the rod which was buried in the water the line snapped.

It's not surprising the bite was tough with the water levels fluctuating so much lately. I think the water level dropped 7' this past week.
In a way it's good to see a tough bite once in a while...it give the fish a chance to grow.
