    Question Caesar Creek Crappie

New fisherman for CC. The last time I fished CC was when it was a creek back in the 70's. i am thinking about heading to Caesar creek and not sure where to even begin looking for crappie. i looked at the map of the lake and since i am coming from KY what would be the best ramp, Sat am? i am not asking for honey holes or anything just a tip. So any info is appreciated. Also coming up I-71, can you help me out with bait shop for some minnows? Anyone have any water temps? Patterns for now?
    Thanks,
    Bassky

Bassky... if you are going up I-71 take exit 45... go west 4 or 5 miles, you will see a bait shop on the right just before the road to the boat ramp, also on your right just after you cross the lake... saturday was a fair bite in the main creek... fish slow & good luck

Any suggestions on boat ramps? What is Haines Boat ramp like? Got a 20' triton. Can you put in the campground ramp w/o camping?

You will not get to the creek from that ramp though, it gets too shallow, you 'll need to use the Haines ramp.

Looks like we will be launching from North Pool ramp midlake. What water depths are there up in the creek area and what depths should I be looking for to start? I have been hearing 20-30'. Is the creek that deep and is there alot of structure, laydowns, standing timber?

Do not try to go through the mud flat unless you want to get stuck, and or want to lose your prop. Also stay to the left of the island at the camp grounds too shallow. You can not get into the creek from the north pool ramp. Beyond that there is timber in the channel leading to the mud flat. As for depth, I have not really been fishing the dead sea lately. I did fish the mud flat for bass in my kayak, and there were crappie up in the creek.

Didn't get up to the creek area. Fished the breaks on the flats in 20-30' of water with minnows. Caught around 20 whites and 10 crappie and 3 saugeyes. Kept 3 crappie and 3 white bass. Fishing was good from daylight till about 9:30am and started getting slow. Got out around noon.
