That used to be a nice boat... :)
Did the same thing coming out of Eagle creek in Ripley. I had just bought my new to me boat and couldn't wait to try it out in my home waters. When I backed into the water, the ice at the ramp was maybe a 1/8" thick. By the time I got to the river(Which was clear of ice), it was 1/2' to 3/4". Once I was out in it could only go forward or backwards. Boat seemed to run fine when i got out in the river. Got it back on the trailer and had tore up the aluminum prop (Got a SS one now), scratched the bottom of the boat up and tore a chunks out of the keel guard. nonono
Will never pull that stunt again.
hell i cant believe yates aint on plane!!!nut job
i was on the way back out
I have always said that a boat is a tool. awesome pictures! Most people wouldn't take there boat out on salty roads but some folks don't mind!!! Look at that windshield!! I love it!! Ive had to rinse the salt out of my boat several times, I never hesitate to take the boat to the water UNLESS its slushy roads. I did that one time, and ill not do that again. what a mess.
I busted through ice the other day to get to the upper end of ef with my glass boat and even guys in there aluminum rigs were looking at me like I was nuts. there wasn't much I wouldn't try to bust through when I had my alum deep v.
Guys new to the site but I stopped by Boar's Head yesterday and drove down to the state park ramp. I could not see any ice at all. Hopefully these next few cold nights have minimal effect and crappie season will be under way!
Yates move up to a real boat!
