Well I'm not a member of the SW Ohio fishermen but I am a fishermen from central Ohio and I have to admit I think I would pull my hair out trying to run a tournament circuit. I am one of guys that every week I tell my wife I want to fish in the COCC tournament that Oliver holds here in central Ohio but I have yet to make it. Even after getting e-mails and phone calls from Oliver inviting me to join in the fun, something always comes up, Mothers day, Fathers day, birthdays, Easter, walleye are biting on Erie, what ever the excuse. I wish I had a good explination for making excuses but i don't.
I think a lot of it is like anything else which I found out while running poker tounaments, you have a core group that will make it everytime and they generally are the ones that, NO BIG SUPRISE, take home the prize. The ones that may show up once or twice tell themselfs they don't have a chance to win so why play. Well the my answer for that is like anything else, practice practice practice. If you want to have a chance you have to put the time in and as some have stated earlier, time is a luxury.
As a common lurker I have to say, I think if I would get off my butt and get the boat in the water more often, the guys to hang with would be all you crazy guys from EF. and by the way buckeye lake 6.98 miles long :)

It was Buckeye lake, in central OH. The argument started due to the internet...1 individual chose to believe what he read on the net(Mike), the other individual was a 12 pack deep at this point(me), but knew better, and the argument spilled out into the parking lot at the hotel, and there were witness'es...
We aint kin, be we can sure fight like it. Id take a bullet for him, but dont trust his judgement of distance no further than i can reach.
We went on to win that tournament...when we are fighting, yall need to be careful...when we suck we have nothing to fight about...we dont fight all that much
Well lot of thoughts to process. I am thinking of whole new schedule next year, all big HP lakes. Not positive but a thought.
Good luck Bottom, I don't envy you. At one time, I thought about breaking up BCC into 4 divisions--NW/Central, NE, SW, and SE with 4 tournaments in each division and a statewide championship tournament taking the top 10-15 boats from each division. I thought your group would make a great platform for the creation of the NE and perhaps the SE divisions. Then BCC declined in the number of boats and only averaged 14-15 boats for the year, and I saw how you were struggling, and said the heck with it--waste of time given the participation rates. You'd need a solid 30 boat average in each division to make it work properly and there just isn't the interest.
