Default Acton/Houston woods Hp meeting 4/22 7:00pm at the lodge

There will be a final meeting and vote on the proposed Hp rule next Tuesday night at 7:00pm at the lodge, anyone interested should attend to cast there vote. If passed boats with larger than 10hp engines would be allowed to run there motors at idle speed, vs. running a trolling motor all day, the rule would go into effect on June 1, 2014, for a 2year trial period. The rule change is expected to meet heavy opposition by the sailboaters and college rowing teams, but I for one know there are many more fisherman that use the lake, so as they say there is power in numbers, if you would like to see the rule changed for at least a two year period please attend, this is the last meeting before a decision is made. ps. if anyone needs a ride I will be traveling up rt 27 and would be happy to pick you up, just pm me

Pretty sure im open that night. I would like to attend as well. Absolutely kills my trolling motor battery out there. I think fisherman spend more money than sailboaters and rowing teams and we should be able to run at no wake at least.

Yeah I would like to see idle speed for everyone, hopefully fisherman will be represented! our Ohio license fees go to support all state waterways why shouldnt everyone be allowed to utilize all the Ohio waterways?

I wish I could make it but on 12 hr shifts 7pm-7am. I just bought a new boat and don't want to mount a kicker plate on the transom. Old boat's transom had area where I could slap on my 4 hp kicker. Now I'm loading the 20 fter with hip waders up there. Will be fishing there Sunday morning about 9:00 if you see me stop by a say hi. Will be in a camouflage 20ft Seaark. I get the Wild Ohio emails every week and nothing is mentioned about this meeting. I think they are keeping it under the radar of the fisherman. I wish I new some of the local bass club members. They would be on board for this proposal too. If your a member of Ohio Game and Fish should probably post it over there too.

I work 6 days a week and choose to fish Sat due to the forecasted wind Sunday, and I also traded up on boats this Winter actually i had to sell my camper and old boat to make it work, so I cant afford a 24volt trolling motor or a kicker motor. You know I met a guy from the OGF forum last weekend there too, I think some day I will add my forum handle to my boat somewhere. I also get e mails from ODNR and Wild Ohio you are correct about keeping it hush hush, thats why Ive started a thread here and on OGF. Good luck Sunday
