don't listen to those dweebs. do this...buy some bandits, series 100, 200 and 300 troll them around in 10'-20'of water at 1.5 mph. You will cover water and learn the lake fast and determine their depth. When you get hits, drop back on that location and try a vert-jig. After you limit out...tell everyone it that you just gotta know how to troll.
lol. thanks for the info. This is the post I was waiting to see. Confirms my plans.
Newbie here, I normally fish Acton lake and always catch crappie, last Sunday June 2 I took my 8 yr old Grandson who had only fished 3 times prior, it took a little while to find them but we caught 47 mostly smaller 8-9" but fed a family of four last night with Our catch. We used slip bobbers and minnows, set about 2 to 3 ft off the bottom in 12ft of water by drop offs, appearently a huge cat liked this too, I hooking into a 24" cat with my ultra light on 6# test, but broke the line upon getting him into the boat! good luck
Nice report and welcome to the site.
This is an EXTREMELY late telly, but the board is dead and thought I would post this. On this trip we caught over 130 in a day in a half. Get this...throwing crankshaft like we were fishing for bass. Rapala makes a real small ctankbait. They killed. Only thing is, only 20 keepers.
New phone. Typing is a challenge.
Sounds like ya did okay.
Keep posting and it won't be so dead.
