I fish for Crappie all year round except during spring months when white bass spawn, they fight like nothing else for their size and when you find a school it can go on for hrs. I have been making a small hair jig for years to catch them and with ultra light tackle a 1/64 th oz. jig and bobber it's a blast when they are on. We live south of Columbus and only 45 min. drive from probably 5 different lakes to run to when they are running. Just gets me excited talking about it. I know most people won't eat them but I found years ago if you take care of them and clean them properly they are tastey. I keep them on ice or alive if possible when I clean them and cut all the red meat off the skin side of fillet.
