I'm going to Eastfork in the morning & leave next Tuesday for Kentucky lake. :biggrin Ready to get started.
I went back and reread this thread and don't see why anyone should be offended or should have to apologize...
all i see is a difference of opinions and there is good and bad points in each opinion...
if anyone was offended you may be to censitive...
PS if i offended anyone you have two options
option A... i buy you a beer...
option B... i take you out back and teach
you the fine art of eating gravel...
i know a fella who has owed you a beer for dang near 3 years now,
fishin is one thing, but i take my beer VERY SERIOUSLY.
I can supply the gravel, but im not sure if we can both hold him down so you can feed it to him
Im game if you are...
I was not trying to offend anybody niether
If I did sorry

Hey kycreekboy, have a safe trip to Ky Lake. It's an awesome lake. Save us a few fish.
I'm heading down there on the 10th with EFslabs and a couple of other friends. I don't really care what the air temps do over the next few weeks, I just hope the water levels stay fairly stable and the winds don't blow too hard while we're there. The last few years the water levels have been anything but stable. If the temps stay up like this, I bet we may even see a little of the redear bite when we are down there.

I got into some a few years ago like this one. I've been looking for his cousins ever since.
Crappiemax, You're rght on the water levels & wind. We really struggled with water level last year. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My buddy has family down where we are going and we are getting good reports. I have never caught one of the redear. i've been telling my buddy i'd like to try that. Even hire a guide if needed, just to learn the tricks and a few spots.
Last year was one of 2 of the worst trips we had down there. The last day that we could fish we whooped up on them pretty good but even at that it was nothing compared to other years. But all things considered its still my favorite place to fish. It's not easy to fish like the lakes around here, you just won't get the numbers but the size makes up for it.
Every once in awhile we run into the redears. I don't understand them but if I find them I stay and play until the move. One of these years I'm going to go down and look for them in May. I don't know if thats a good time but it sounded good to me.
