thought it was bout time for a check-in ( and a lil bragging!) been hearing from Doc some crappies being caught- I almost went today (glad I didn't) fished the Fall Brawl catfish toury last weekend @ Buggs- first tourney of any kind I ever fished- FUN stuff! met a bunch of good ol boys I'd only known before like ya'll! I was casting a jig during the day- drove my pardner crazy!! but had a couple bites on the Hwy 15 bridge pilings! first time I'd been on the water since labor day - sure was nice- ended sept. with 175 doves- got the late season @ new years for the last 25! LOL!! tagged a nice buck this afternoon- first 1 in the freezer- 16" wide 8 Pt (well it was 8 before he broke 1 off!) heart girth'd 160 lbs! that's what im looking for! shot a big doe last week but the coyotes got on her & ran her off! to danged many of them - kill em all !! Sounds like you slayed the doves! Were you hunting over corn, sunflower, gravel road? Do you use dove mojos or just wings hooting? Either way sounds like you got em figured out. And congrats on the buck as well.

hunting corn fields on a buddy's dairy farm (he milk's bout 1200 head so lota silage )- hunting by myself gota have the decoys to get in the shooting- I use 1 battery powered mojo, 2 wind powered mojos, and 24 full body decoys- put 1/2 dozen up on powerline (when have them) and 18 more on ground set out around mojos- fun stuff! its all I do in September!! best afternoon this year I had my limit (15) within 30 min. of 1st shot- got in 13 hunts this september
