    Default Dodged an FAA bullet

    Had my annual physical yesterday.

Found hypertension and being put on meds for it. Thought this would flag me to hand in my ticket.

Found out to day as long as I keep up with meds I'm good to keep flying.

Waiting on the next bullet Monday. Labs for Diabetes. If I am positive and put on insulin they pull my ticket and I'm done flying.

How do you control your trolling speed in that thing?

    Drift Sock?

Actually the deeper you sink the basket against current slows you down.

My objective is to practice a soft landing. If I can just graze the surface enough to create a wake and not get water in the basket... perfect landing..... maintaining that amount of buoyancy to keep in contact with the water and keep dry is hard to do though.

The pic was taken by the wife of the guy I had flying with me.

I asked him he'd mind if I dipped the basket in the river a few times and looked a little puzzled but said "Sure... um... am I going to need to take off my shoes"? when we skipped on the surface the first time he hopped up and was sitting on one of my fuel tanks with his arms wrapped around the uprights, with his feet up on a hand hold.

I barely had one corner of the floor get wet and that was because of his sudden shifting of weight as we dropped in.
