Thread: Smallmouth

Has anyone ever tried for smallmouth near the Double Bridges boat landing (Greensville cty) on the Nottoway? I don't know why they call it a landing as you couldn't put anything you can't carry in it due to the rocks.

i have caught s/b by the hercules chemical plant in the winter. i was shocked when we were catching them so far east. back then 20 years ago i was looking for red eyes. we were throwing 4" plastic worms. we only tried it one time but we did catch 6 s/m back then. no real size. hope this helps some.

Thanks Jim. I've tried a few times there for them but never no luck. I get the impression they don't stay there very long.

Fished it out of canoe 20+ years ago, caught lots of 10" to !2" in the fall. Heard there are lots of snakes there in the summer.
