Ok Snub, got a question. Drift sock or chains. And BTW, that is a good deal at Cabelas.

Drift socks IMO, don't like the idea of fooling with heavy chains. Also, the downfall to chains is the possibility of damaging structure (brush piles, stakes beds etc.) that others work hard to put out. And I also don't like the thought of handling them in my boat, don't wanna ding up gel coat if I don't have to. Some folks swear by chains though, my personal choice is drift socks.
Sounds like good advice. I’m tired of fighting the wind and I am trying to decide which route to take. What size drift sock would be my best choice? Looks like they range from 30 inches and up.

I ordered two 56" socks for my 18' foot glass boat. Upgrading from two 42" socks I bought at Academy sports. Figured put one out if the winds aren't bad and double with two if they are. If I need more then two 56" socks then more then likely I will move to another location or if that's not a possibility I will go home![]()
Well thanks for the info. I’ve got a couple of gift cards burning a hole in my pocket. Looks like a pair of new socks are in my future.
