Anyone ever have this battery problem?

Yes it should but I just had one a few months ago do same thing. It showed it was charged yet would boil water out. Try this first. Fill it with water hook it up by itself and let it charge, then take it to auto parts store and have them load test it. That should tell you pretty quick what shape it is in. My theory on mine was it had to be thinking on the electronics side it need maintained and kept a slight charge going to it. My charger does not have a light that indicates when it is in the mataince mode. Just charging or charged.

What Cray said. Load test both of them in case the factory had a bad run.

Read most of he responses and may have missed it, but I have been told on many occasions to water your battery BEFORE you charge it. Seems to make a huge difference.

Actually that's NOT what is recommended .... if the plates are covered, charge the battery and THEN fill with distilled water. If the plates are not fully covered, add enough distilled water to cover plates & then charge it and finish filling.

I KNOW .... that sounds backwards, but it's what every battery maintenance website I've ever read says is the right way to do it.

What CP said...If you fill them to full level before charging it could boil over

Charged and filled. I have a load tester, but I'm gonna pull it out and take it to a parts store for professional testing.

Now that's funny right there!!! I work at AutoZone and I'll tell you for sure that 95% of the employees there don't know how to properly load test a battery and don'tt care to learn.

I agree with deltabull, as to be careful where you take it. My truck battery was going dead, so I went to AutoZone. They "had to" test it, so I went with the program. They tried to tell me the variable output alternator was bad, and the 7-year-old battery was good.
