Nice problem to have. Wish I could help you but I'm not near up-to-date on the electronics.

I can get a helix 9 SI Mega or a Helix 12 chirp SI gen 1 for the same price.....Torn on which one I should get? I know the mega has awesome new technology but would I rather go gen 1 and get bigger screen?

From what i hear folks are wanting the mega.....hard decision. I would probably go mega...a 9 inch screen is really not too small.

Go with someone that has both and see which one you like better.Ive been around both and i would take the bigger screen for the way i fish.I bet 90% would say the gen 2 though.

Big decision there. If I were you I would go to the nearest big box store(Bass Pro, Cabela's, etc.) and check it out first hand with their display models.
Be safe and good luck fishing![]()

MEGA will add dedicated DI, CHIRP imaging, MEGA 1200kHz imaging, and longer update life ...
