Sounds like a ground issue. I had the exact same issue on my 1860. Everything looked fine on the wiring. I finally took ALL the wires off and cleaned them and I found a tarnished lug at the ground buss. Cleaned it up and never had the issue again.

Good news is, contacted lowrance after my 7 failed to turn on. Was the second issue on my 7” unit. They agreed to send me a replacement unit, which actually shocked me since this unit was over a year old refurb. Take back all the bad i said about their customer service!
Will now have a HDS 9 Touch gen 2 and a 7 touch(not sure what gen) for sale with transom mount LSS-2 and sonar transducer. My birds should be in today

You’ll like some things on those birds, but not others. Better pony up for the heading sensor. You’ll also miss a few things the Lowrance does. There is No Perfect solution. Ima run both Lowrance and Humminbird. Then I’ll want the PanOptics. On and On and On. [emoji23]

I told a guy I took the other day, there wouldn’t be a crappie left if my grandfather had all this hi tech mess! But it sure is nice [emoji1303]

We're all spoiled! MO' MONEY and bandchaser are spot on. I started crappie fishing with my Dad 60 years ago, and we always caught fish before electronics. Nowadays nobody wants to even fish without 'em.....I know I don't!!
In my defense, the lakes my grandfather and father raised me on, they knew like the back of their hand. We would fish in the middle of the lake around a stump they knew was there from 20 years ago. I fish so many different lakes, it would literally take me days to find fish without maps and electronics. Just goes to show, there is no substitute for experience
