Didn't help me, long poles and short ears. Haven't tried it since I got my hearing aids.

Like G said, tie a desperate piece of line between the rod tip and first eyelet back. I put 3 fluorescent orange Pony Beads on that line. That prevents slack getting in your line and the beads making a half hitch around your rod tip. Run your main line through the beads also. The orange beads really shine brightly in the sun also.![]()

Yonder thanked you for this post
I like the beads with a smaller hole in them, they all work tho. I really like that idea Scott, they perform better at the tip.

If I had to depend on my ears to catch fish, I would be more inclined to labeled as a conservationists!
My eyes are far better than my ears!!

I guess I'm a little slow....
The idea being, the beads will bounce off the rod, or each other, when you get a bump, making a "click"? I like the idea, just the mechanics, I can't seem to grasp!
Would these only work with baitcasting rods (eyes up) or spinning (eyes down) as well?
Help a feller out y'all, I am from Florida after all.....
Thanks

You got it. Once you get tuned into the “click” it will sound like a shotgun blast on a quiet day. I hear a lot of bites before I ever see them.
