crappie at night

I've caught lots of crappie fishing at night in Grenada Lake Spillway using a cork and jigs. Sometimes, it was better than day fishing. Haven't done it the last few years though. You can see a fluorescent yellow cork pretty good under those lights on the walkway.

Sardis be as good a place as any to try up near the dam, water is as clean looking as drinking water. I would be willing to bet a person who is experienced and has the right gear could do well there at night, like Bama from the AL board. I've seen he plum wears them jokers out after the sun goes down at his home lakes!

tried it recently but the moon was pretty full and not many minnows showed up and caught on 4 incher but didn't give it a big try. was just tied to my dock. there are plenty of youtube video's of it that make your head swim with clouds of shad and schools of crappie swimming thru, so it does work in right circumstances.

I've done it a couple times on Sardis. Used the submersible white light. After a hour you got plenty of bait fish. Turn off the light and they all hit the surface. Dip up a few turn the light back on and start fishing with them. I've caught a few nothing to brag about. It's different and something fun to do with kids. I tight line with a hook and sinker. You can use a bobber but to me it was easier to feel it than see it. You will be the only boat on the lake. Turn a light on in the boat and mosquitoes will come and join you.

I've never seen Sardis as clean as drinking water in my life time, and I'm 72 years young. If it is that clear now, then night fishing with lights will work, but I'm calling b.s. on Sardis clean as drinking water.

Lol, okay calm down, I take a few pics in the morning, I was out yesterday and let's just say it looks good. It definitely ain't muddy, neither is Grenada or Enid for that matter, Enid may have a bit of trash, but none of them I would call muddy right now, we get a good rain that will change. And guess depends on where you drink water from, go to Greenville, MS and that stuff comes out the tap brown. Either way no need to get upset about it..

Man ain't nobody upset, just saying what I've seen, all is good. Where I live here we have lakes for the residents, and you can see most times 10 feet deep or more, that's what I call a clear lake. Nobody is upset....:cheers2

Was there today...Sardis is as clear as I have seen in a long time
