Supposedly the early 2000's are the best spider rigging platform out there. Like Honda atv's, Toyota trucks...you don't see them for sale that often. Folks hold on to a good thing.

Ducker, I looked for 6 months before I found the one I wanted in Birmingham, AL. I drove to Lake of the Ozarks and Dallas, TX looking at boats. Keep looking. One will come up that you like in your price range.
Don't know how scarce they are but how do the older 521's compare

There are other 22 foot boats of the same vintage. Triton made a TR-22, champion had a 221, and a 223 model. Gambler made a bunch of 22' but don't think it was all that similar to a 522. Storm made one too. Again a different animal though.

Dang, how could I forget basscat. The older vintage jaguar s 20'1" I think but the new one is 22' and a monster. Haven't seen a used one under $40k though.
