    Default Reels

Wanting to upgrade reels for spider rigging. I have 6 10 ft black widow slo troller poles. Right now I have four a cheaper Walmart spincast reels mounted and one spinning reel.

Which is better - spinning or baitcast?
I like spinning reels because they have hook on reel to let out same amount of every time. How would you do this without a counter on baitcast reel? I measure now with pole and reel to eye measurements.

For short line adjustment I release the drag on the spinning reel, hold the line at the reel and pull out to the side. Arms length should be 3 ft. I use a bobber stopper, when I get the depth I want I adjust the stopper to ride at water surface.
This site usually has some good deals on reels. About Fisherman's Factory Outlet

I like a baitcaster because when you catch a fish on a short line, you can press the thumb release to get more line out while your thumb is on the spool. Makes it easier to net a fish. Plus, they are lower profile and easier to store in my rodbox.....I dont use the outside racks. Just my 2 cents worth.
