I pilot vs I pilot link

Hey y'all, thinking bout changing from terrova I pilot (no link) to ultrex. Have Humminbird's that are Ethernet capable, but not hooked up. I spider rig and single pole. Do I need the link?

Need? I would say no. With that said, I like the remote better and for what we do the go to feature is good too. I don't find myself using the contour feature. I do like it hook in the network, I can glance at the depth find and see things like if the prop is on or not. Watch some videos on the Minn Kota website.
The remote to me is worth the difference and the new one is better.

correct me if im wrong. a terrova can be upgraded to a link by replacing the head.
