My take on the snap catching the fish fairly often is that when a fish hits the bait Head On, they either pull the pole down and get off because they never reach the hook gap, or the snap grabs em. Both things happen at Washington and several other lakes a lot.
Walmart used to carry the large ones but I don't think they do any more, only the small ones. At least every where I've looked. So I had to order the last large ones I got on line.
CAUTION!!! There are knock offs out there that will rust or are not as strong. Use the Fas Snap brand. You'll be glad you did. Some knockoff products work great, the Fas Snap knockoffs are NOT one of those.
