Need Drift Sock Advice

I've seen lots of time I would like to fish the river in the Rez and chains would not work, so I'm gonna have the option in the future. Socks for sure won't work in places like Oilwell Woods or the Sawdust Pile, so the chains will be in the boat. I have a WE 861 and two ropes with 5 of the 5 ft chains on each side is not enough most of the time and the wind will not be very high. I guess when I'm in those stumps I like to creep along.

Torch is spot on....I have (2) 5 feet of coated 3/8 chain with 25 feet of nylon rope, and a quick release to add coated window weights. Quick, easy, and uncomplicated. If it's much worse than that, I'll sit at the ramp and enjoy myself watching folks tryin to load their boat.

I have a 175 tracker and it blows around more than any boat I've ever been in. I have 2 48" socks, but at anything more than 10mph they don't slow it down enough. Most of the time I use chains. 100ft of 1/4" nylon rope attached to a D-ring. Then I can attach up to 6, 5' pieces o 3/8" ecoated stainless chain. I put big screw type caribiners on the chain to add or remove easier. The further back you let the chains out, the better they work and hang up less. Only issue I have is they make a huge mess in the boat.

EZ, not familiar with the rez curious as to why chains won't work in the river?

There are lots of times I will be fishing the river ledge and its approx six feet deep and the river is 25-30 fow. I find it very difficult, if not impossible, to regulate chains in that situation. A lot of flats you have to use chains because of stumps. I mainly want these socks for the big 4. I have a pair now that I will keep in the boat along with the chains for either situation.
