    I just ordered a new Helix 9 DI...are there any upgrades on the transducer?

    I think so, if the ducer looks kinda square I think it can be upgraded.

    The tear drop shaped one is for transom mount.....if you do not open the package it's in you can trade it in for a trolling motor ducer. But it will cost more money.

    I may do that for trolling motor one, I was just told some depth finders came with HD Transducer and some.didnt...wanted to make sure I had HD

    That is referring to the SI ducer. Did only has 2,Tear drop for transom which can be used on trolling motor or one designed for trolling motor which is kinda square and actually has a wider cone angle for better coverage up front.
