I would think so Speck. They aren't that bad, Gill is a great idea, I just didn't think of him. Gatlin is in Grenada and ACI that Bill mentioned is one of the best steel providers in the country, have bought close to a million dollars worth of material from them over the years.
Thanks Rees
So...to you guys who have built em, and you guys that are thinking about em......What would you do different? What would you add? Leave out? What is your must have shop add-on. Talking about 30x40 with a covered side/rear for a shady spot to rest/work/grill/cook. Going to be at the house, so has to pass the wife "purty enuff" inspection. Big enough to store small tractor, boat or two, 4 wheeler or two, maybe pontoon boat when I hit geezer status. Pole barn vs steel building vs frame built? Help me think before I drop 40k on an overpriced shed!
This will be the one time I can get away with this. Buying Momma a new house in the country and she said I could build any barn I want!
Everyone I know who has them, no matter the size, says "it ain't big enough".
Plumbed for water inside and out, lots of outlets, 220v? Floor drains and exhaust fan to keep air moving, heat?
My old shop is 30X40 but it's a frame building. Full bathroom and natural gas forced air shop furnace. Have a 200 amp service in the building. Built it in 1987 for $8000. That included the dirt work and concrete.
