    Default PONTOON VS DECKBOAT

My daughter and son in law are in the market for a family boat
The boat will be used for fishing, tubing, riding etc. He sent me an ad for a deckboat asking me what I thought of them. I told him I have zero knowledge about the pros and cons of a deckboat.

They have two boys 15 & 7. Anyone ever owned, trailered, launched or rode on a deckboat ? Oh or fished from one ?

    Thanks in advanced, ds

It depends on how it is layed out. Some are very fishable and some that are advertised as fishing not so much. I would opt for the deck boat over a pontoon for both fishing and family outings. Biggest draw back on the deck boats is it usually takes bigger HP motors to get them to perform because they are quite a bit heavier.
