How well do they last . What do you have and how old is it ?

They last a long time if you get a good one. I have a MinnKota 330D.....its five years old now. Does a good job.

same here. MK 330. It's about 5 or so years old and I've beat mine to death in that bay boat hitting waves hard.

I have the Minn Kota 345D. Large and heavy, does great. If I were buying today this is what I'd get.

As long as it's a Minn Kota, you'll be fine. I use the 330, but the 315 works great if you're not pulling cranks and need a quicker recovery time. The 345 is overkill for your application.

I have new 345 for my golf cart batteries(TM) and 230 for my crank and electronics batteries on my Excel. The MinnKota charger I had on my previous boat was at least 10 years old and still as good as the day I bought it.

I have a ProMariner and it has been working just fine for 5 years. It stays plugged up 24/7 365. It will shuttle any extra amp's off a charged up battery like your cranking battery over to the one requiring more charge ie trolling battery.

Yes, it does depend on your application. I have 2 group 31s on the TM and a 29 on the cranking/electronic. I pull cranks for 8-9 hours at 1.6 to 2 mph without any pause, I hope. At the end of the day, they are pretty low. Get home around 7 or so and without the 345 I may not be ready the next morning at 6 with a full charge. That is if I were going. So, I would use this as a gauge for your application, then add some...

Gene, that was my exact reason for going with the Trojan 1275s and a 5 battery set-up. My Bay Pro is the 1st boat I ever had that could accommodate that many. We did have to modify the area under my center console to fit those 3 monsters in. I'm sure it took some of my top-end speed off but I hope to have zero issues when trolling from daylight to dark then again the next day.

If turn around is important then 15 amp is the way to go. I have a guest 4x15 that is at least 10 years old. Also have a little NOCO genius 2x4 that's 2 years old. . Have had one of everything and have gotten good service out of them all. Only MKs I've had trouble with is the portable 1 banks. Just tossed my second a couple of weeks back.
