Would hate to catch someone putting one in my mail box. In 1983 guy put a chicken snake in my CJ5. When I found he did it, Lets just say he got off work three days. Because I beat him until a bunch pulled me off him. I did not care for his joke. As I almost ran off a bluff, as the snake did not show its self. Until I was 10 miles away from work that night. heater had warmed him up and I let him have the jeep for a few minutes after I got it under control and stopped.

Doubtful the police would offer much help. Probably hard to get finger prints off a snake!
No but finger prints on the door....and the Postal service has their own detectives
