also has anyone ever exchanged the transom mount ducer that comes with the unit for a trolling motor mounted ducer? Mine is brand new and it was not in a bag when i opened the box. All it had was that plastic film over it and the had the wire coiled up and tied up with a twist tie....does anyone know if I can send it back just like that and they will exchange it for a new TM mounted one?

You can get a mount on Amazon for 14 bucks......If you swap transducers you will have to pay the difference......it was more than I wanted to pay so I bought the mount.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Best bet is to use the adapter to mount a transom to the trolling motor. Mine was a down imaging and was to long to use with the adapter on my motor. To swap to a trolling motor mount was $60 and took about 6 weeks because the transducer was backordered. You can pick up the adapter from amazon, basspro, or cabelas.

Minn Kota part numbers ADM ST-7 or 9 depending on the model of the fish finder and ducer. DI takes the 9 I believe.
We only sell the Best. Ranger, Xpress, Yamaha, Suzuki, Tohatsu.

Take the transom mounting bracket and put the flat side to the trolling motor and strap it down with a hose clamp. Then turn the transducer and mount it on the bracket where it runs through the water in the same direction as if it were mounted to the transom of the boat. Once you mount the flat side to the tm you will see the way to mount the transducer. I have my humminbird 349c mounted that way and it works fine. Will try to post pic of mine but not good at posting them.
