Default Fire ban in Yalobusha county

Sadly, this includes Cossar. I was so looking forward to a bonfire Friday night.

Panola county has been under a fire ban until the first week of November. While the ranger at John Kyle would come by and dash a little water on our campfire he would drive by some where no one was watching it. Another fire had a propane bottle within inches of it. The owner did move the tank about a foot away. The whole while we could smell fields being burned.
Looks like I'll be unloading half of my truck.

I called the office at Cossar today. The lady said fires in the fire rings are ok. Didn't talk to a ranger though.

Great, I'll be adding wood back to my load today. It will be enough for a good campfire, not a bonfire.
A ranger told me in the past that if a tree was down you could cut and haul it off if you wanted too.
At Kyle they don't have fire pits. The 2 sites my son and I shared there were maybe 15 different spots where fires had been.

We talked to the ranger here at cossar and she said there was no problem with having a camp fire here.
