Had this done about seven years ago. Worse pain I have ever had. Thought I was having "the big one!" Surgery was no problem. Back to work in less than a week. Scars are almost un-noticeable. About two years ago, I had another attack that was much worse than the first. Thought it must be my heart, cause I had no gall bladder. Turns out, first doctor left a stone or two loose in me, and one got lodged in my common bile duct coming from the liver and stopped it up. They fished it out by running some tools down my throat. Did this one outpatient at River Oaks in Jackson, and was back at work the next day. Don't know if they can do you like that, but I would sure check. It beat the heck out of the laparoscopic surgery!
Oh..... Hope you get better quick!
Had mine removed, pain gone when you wake up.Also, my oldest daughter and 2 of my friends had their's removed. Same results for all 4 of us. By today's standard, as easy a surgery and recovery as you can get. For a while though , be near a restroom. When the urge hits, you got to go!!
I had mine out 12 years ago, and like the others...pretty easy surgery. Outpatient and back to work in a couple of days. Hope yours goes well.
well, met with dr andrews at BE this morning. he read all the reports we got at the ER sat night and is confident it needs to come out. sent me over to my cardiologist to get a EKG. it turned out very good, so i got to be at BE at 1030 tomorrow and surgery at 1pm. gonna try to get me out same day but may have to stay over weds night. thanks for all of your info, thoughts and prayer. i think it is gonna be ok..WS
You will be fine James.....take care buddy.......thoughts and prayers are with you
Makes dining out tough. About 10 minutes later better find a bathroom. I leave for the lake at 4 and get to eat when I get at most 20 miles from home. makes a long day. Lesson number 1.... don't eat at krystal in west Memphis and expect to make it home. life's lessons can be tough.
You'll do fine. Glad for the good info and quick response to get you fixed.
Yep, be fine. Stomach problems for some after, but for others not. I had trouble soon after the surgery but it seems to be almost normal now. When I want to make sure I take 2 imodiums a couple hrs ahead. Good luck.
