    Default cable TV costs.....

Well,,, just got another annual Comcast letter of intent to increase cost of my Cable TV by a mere $14.00... that should put my cable TV monthly fee up around $180... Surely there's got to be a cheaper way ....any suggestions from the Crappie .com crew?

Yep. Get rid of cable. Go with high speed internet and buy an Amazon fire stick with a HD TV antennae.

A Netflix subscription is about $8.00/Mo.
Amazon Prime is about $100/Yr. and it will pay for itself three times over in complimentary 2nd day shipping.
    Hulu Plus is another $8.00/Mo.

Figure your internet is $60.00/mo.+$20-$30/mo. for streaming services and you're looking at saving roughly $100/month compared to cable.

I have ATT and I'm about to drop them for Comcast. I don't really like either, but Comcast is faster. ATT internet has been buggy for us.

Can you watch current TV series on any of those internet services? My DirectTV bill is getting out of control. Cost about $180 a month now. My first house wasn't much more than that a month.

Yes. Sling TV will allow you to watch live TV. Channels are a LITTLE limited, but you get ESPN and ESPN 2. It's $20/mo. which is still cheaper than cable+internet.

Cable and satellite companys all have a retention department. I've had Directv since 1996 but get my internet through cable. The cable company had a bundle package that would have saved me $50 a month to bundle cable and internet. I called Directv to cancel my service and explained why. They lowered my Directv bill by $50 a month if I didn't do the cable bundle. It's worth a phone call. Just sayin.
