    Default Gardening tip

If you plant corn, peas, beans, etc. and the birds pull it up as fast as it comes up, try this. It has worked for me for many, many years.
After planting, run white string above the rows as shown in the pic. Remove it after plants are a few inches high, birds can't pull it up then.

They think its a trap. I've proven it time and again that it works where you have crow and bird problems. And too, deer won't cross the white string as long as its about hip high. Or should I say 2 1/2 to 3 feet, hip high can vary too much...

    I don't have a problem with birds.
Squirrel will dug up seeds, mostly corn, when it's a few inches tall. Squirrels and coons will ride the stalks over to get to the ears when ready. I trap and haul off a few every week.
For deer, I've tried a lot of things to keep them out of the peas. They get use to it and walk right through it.

You need to freeze water around your garden and cut a hole in the ice. When the deer come up to take a pea, kick em in the ice hole. Gardening tip

EZ, I can't tell from the picture. Are those two strings side by side at the same height, or are they lined up one above the other?

It's one string on top of another. Worked again, no more pulled up since installing the string..
