I pull and push cranks at least twice a week. I also use a variety of baits. The Arkies, Bandits, plus the C255s and the C549s that I paint. They all catch fish for me. The Arkie 350s when pulling and the 220s when pushing produce as well for me as anything I've used.

How do you know this?

Cant tell all my secrets but I tested them for 6 months before they put them on the market. A couple others tested them too and we all came up with the same results. Its easy to figure if you have some good long flats in different depths. The Arkie 350 will also get to depth quicker than a 300 bandit.

Funny, That's the 900 pound gorilla in the room that nobody wants to talk about. I get a couple of e-mails,PMs, calls a week from folks I have never met who just think it is OK to try to invite themselves to join me in my boat since they happen to be in my area. They want me to show/tell them everything I know about painting cranks, pulling cranks, longlining, planer boards etc. I don't seem to remember them being around when I was spending immense amounts of $$, using every resource available to learn, and spending countless hours on the water working on my techniques. Now that I have become pretty good at it, they expect me to spill my guts and share every tid-bit of knowledge I have acquired--just because I should?

I've taught several of my guide friends to longline and pull cranks but folks would rather get me to take time away from my business to teach them for free? Call my guide buddies and pay to play like the rest of us did.

I enjoy takeing other fishermen out with me and getting them started learning a new way to fish, i'm just paying it forward, glad someone took me under their wing 5yrs ago and showed me the basics, i'm not the best crank puller, slowtroller out there, but i feel honored when someone ask me to teach them how to get started. I dont care how good you are, you didnt learn it all by yourself, someone helped you learn, either by asking people, researching online, or getting in the boat with someone willing to teach.

thats weird ,thats why ive been wondering the weight nif u look at some of my earlier post.when i set up i dont cast them out,i trip the bail on my line counters and let them pull out on their on ,usually doing 4 on a side at one time bymyself.when i do this i noticed the arkies and strike kings seem to stay on top of the water while the line is letting out and the bandits dig into the water some and arnt floating on top:biggrin

im with you mrdux,would like to see some of them come this way and deal with a river system.its a whole different animal curvey channels pleasure boaters trying to sling their kids into u baits,speed boats everywhere.when i went to sardis a few years ago and pulled it was like a vacation to all of the excitement u get here in tn.also remember the fall camp year before last and i think me and yikes wher the only ones to catch fish and heard some say they never get skunked on there home lake but they did at pickwick,haha

depends on your spool tension....loose tension they will float untill close the reel bail....if its not real loose the slight resistance will cause the bait to dig in....they will basically all float somewhat untill pulled down....the Arkie even though its bill is slightly smaller than a bandit will dig in and pull down faster because it has two more degrees of dive angle. The Arkie 350 is same weight as a bandit 300 3/8 0z.
