boat registration question

I can never remember. Does your registration go throughthe year on the sticker, or does it end at the begining of that year. My boat sticker says good through "15". Is that good till "16"?

Out on date on card in boat or wallet. Out on January 1, 2016

No! Your boat registration certificate card(wallet card) has the expiration date in the bottom right hand counter. The sticker is not the expiration.
