Gators

I had the pleasure of visiting Mississippi a few years ago and I see several posts about wading. Anybody ever had any close encounters with the gators?

just pet them on the head real gentle, they will leave ya be..

Tap them on the head with your jig pole.............they will get the message. The best way to avoid them is to NOT catch any fish............that way, you will not have fish on a stringer. The only place I ever encountered a gator wading was at BEE Lake a few years back............about 30-35 yards away, and luckily, he just went about his business. It does make you nervous though! My son and I, when he was 12 or so, were fishing in a 12 ft. boat at Malmaison one day, and we literally had 10 or 11 gators following our boat at one time.............needless to say, we paddled to the truck and headed out!

I've run into plenty of bulldogs and rebels but hardly anyone around here pulls for Florida...I think you'll be fine.

I was actually fishing bee lake when we were down. Must of been a little cool still. Didn't see any gators.
