Enid Fishing in the Hailstorm

Went out on the four wheeler today and I knew the storm was coming. I figured I'd ride it out and fish once it blew on by so I made me a tent out of some trees, the four wheeler, and a tarp I remembered to bring. It looked like this.



The rain wasn't nothing, but it was thundering and lightning. I stay low for lightning, and then the hail started. It was a gift from God. Awesome sight and too cool to be sitting out in it. Some of them were big enough to sting under the tarp, but most were like lemon drops or smaller. The link is to youtube where I uploaded it. I don't know how to put videos in these posts.

Went fishing when it was over, but the next one started coming with its lightning. I live too close to the lake to fish in that, so I called it a day.

Immediately it was a big deal. When I waded back out in the water, I could easily tell the difference, but I have no idea if it'll make any real difference. When I got home, my rain gauge here at 7 tenths/inch, so it came some pretty fast, hard rain too.

Wow!! We were on Sardis and didn't get a drop today. Could see some lightning off to south.
