Transducer placement advise needed

I have a 17ft G3. I spider rig mostly and am about to upgrade from basic fishfinder to most likely one of the hummingbird sd/di finders. Where is the best placement for the transducer? trolling motor? or on the hull somewhere. I fish mostly alone but would like to eventually have a couple of fishfinders networked together.

All advise appreciated.

Put it on the TM you'll use it more there. Then when you can add one to the he console That's what I did it ain't cheap but in my opinion that's the best way to start
