I just acquired the Ranger Aluminum line and I know the details. This has been in the works for awhile, and Platinum Group made approximately 10 times their investment and cashed out. BPSG was wanting to enter the upper end of the business. They already own the other end and didn't need anything else for that.

You think they will keep making Stratos boats or just let that brand die? Only reason I ask is because I have been interested in the Stratos 1760 DV for a long time, really like the layout and the pricing is very resonable. Once my three year old starts kindergarten and I can get rid of the $600 a month daycare bill I might be in the market and that was one I was planning on taking a close look at.

I was told by my factory rep that the only change would be the ownership group. I'm sure BPSG will take them out of Cabelas and sell them themselves. I know I would. [emoji4]

BigKyd, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that $600 is gonna sound good later on when you are spending $1000 on the same kid. It never goes away until they leave home and sometimes that still doesn't help. :Rofl

Ain't that the truth. The expenses don't go away till they have been out the door at least a couple years! Cause even once they are out you'll get phone calls like "car needs...". They don't stop till they are out and have some stability. And this day and age stability don't come easy.

I'm waiting on my kids to hit the lottery so I can call them for a loan. The kids never stop needing, and the calls never stop coming until you croak!!! [emoji4]

My daughter always tells me "I love you daddy", and I know she does. I always wonder how much it's gonna cost me to hear her remind me tho. [emoji12][emoji12]

That's the truth - a couple of years. My daughter was finally off the payroll when she got married.

I talked to a Ranger Rep. at the KC boat show and he told me all about what was going on with Ranger and Bass Pro he said it was a great move and that a Ranger would still be a Ranger and Tracker would still be a Tracker and we won't be seeing Rangers sold at Bass Pro Shops and the same goes for the others as well.
